Roberto Vivo Cháneton was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, on July 4, 1953. He is a widower and has three children. He currently lives in Punta del Este, Uruguay, and frequently visits Argentina, the United States, and several countries in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and pursued graduate studies in macroeconomics and other business-related courses. Three years ago, he resumed his art practice as a painter and sculptor.
In the professional field, Roberto has founded and managed companies in various industries, including public works, fishing, agriculture, real estate, telecommunications, and Internet services. He is currently the CEO and chairman of a global media company and serves as senior vice president of the board of directors at Torcuato Di Tella University.
Politically, he was actively involved in the recovery of democracy in Uruguay as a member of the Colorado Party.
As an author, he has written several books and articles on business, social issues, and history. His most recent book, El Crimen de la Guerra (The Crime of War), explores the consequences of war. His previous works include:
