beatriz chachamovits
Beatriz Chachamovits (1986) is an environmental artist working across ceramics, drawing, and installation. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, and based in Miami, her practice engages marine ecosystems through material and narrative, merging natural history with speculative mythologies. Her work positions the ocean as a site of memory, transformation, and cultural reflection, inviting viewers into immersive environments that bridge scientific knowledge and poetic storytelling.
Chachamovits has presented solo and large-scale projects internationally, including Into the Great Dying: Waters We Share at the Faena Art Project Room and a ten-year survey, Meet Me in the Clearing Between the Waves, in the Miami Design District. Her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions at the Parrish Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, and The Baker Museum, among others, with an active exhibition history in both the United States and Brazil. She is the recipient of the Ellies Creator Award and multiple Miami Individual Artist Grants.
Her work has been supported through residencies and fellowships at Mass MoCA, Lighthouse Works, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, among others. She is currently a resident artist at Bakehouse Art Complex in Miami.
